This is why Acupuncture is so popular

Here are a few great reasons why

It's Safe

Acupuncture has a track record over several thousand years of being one of the safest therapies on the planet. At The Subtle Point, we use the highest quality single-use disposable needles, to minimize pain, and to prevent bleeding.

It's Relaxing

After all of the needles are inserted most patients, if not all, feel the relaxing effects of acupuncture. This is accomplished through the stimulation of nerves and the changes to circulation that is caused by each needle insertion.

Proven Results

Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and has delivered results for just as long. The techniques have constantly evolved, adapted, and have been integrated with modern therapies with each successive generation.

How Acupuncture Works

It calms your mind and nerves

The needles that we use stimulate nerves, and helps to calm your mind. This aids in healing your body because when your nervous system is calm, it allows the rest of your organ systems to calm down as well. This means balanced hormones, reduction of pain, less inflammation, increased circulation, and increased nutrient absorption.

Cumulative Results

After every treatment, the results will start to stack, and your body will naturally and gently go through many natural changes. This is in stark contrast to the power of many pharmaceutical drugs and surgeries, which can have harsh side effects and may not be sustainable toward your longterm health.

Increases Micro-circulation

At the site of insertion of the thin acupuncture needles, circulation is increased. This can be seen through the slight redness and the feeling of a flow of energy to each insertion site. The increased blood flow can aid to help your body to heal damaged tissues and improve organ and glandular function to optimal levels.

Frequently Questions & Answers About Our Treatments

Does it hurt?

Acupuncture uses needles that are significantly smaller than any syringe that a doctor would normally use. The sensation has been said to be comparable to a bug bite or a pinch, but often most people do not feel anything at all.  Certain points are can be very tender to needle, and we almost always try not to use these points unless absolutely necessary. If you are sensitive to the needles we will adjust your treatment accordingly so that we can help you achieve your health goals in alignment with your comfort.

How long is each appointment?

At The Subtle Point, we offer a variety of services that can run from 5 minutes to as long as an hour. Initial appointments, however, are one hour long. During that appointment, we will go over your health intake form, go over the estimated amount of treatments that will get you to your optimal health, go over the treatment methods that will be utilized, herbal medicine, dietary and lifestyle advice, and more.

Can natural medicine REALLY help my problem?

Absolutely. Your body is capable of healing almost any problem, especially when it has the specialized natural therapies we offer to help it get back on track.

Do I need to disrobe for treatment?

For the most part, no you don't. I typically try and utilize points below the elbows and knees, sometimes around the belly, and sometimes on the back. Because of this I highly recommend that you come in wearing loose, comfortable clothing to allow easy access to these areas.

Will I have to do some kind of super-restrictive diet?

Absolutely NOT. Our treatment plans are all about setting you up to succeed, so we will help you find a sustainable way to manage your diet. We will find two or three key modifications to your diet and work on those. No impossible to follow meal plans or detoxes here.

How many treatments does it take?

The number of treatments that it takes to treat any given condition is based on a great number of factors. Some of these factors can include the length of having said condition, age, dietary and lifestyle factors, willingness to perform self-care at home, etc. It would also be safe to say that this medicine isn't magic and no condition will be fully resolved after one treatment. However, with that being said, many patients often leave the office with less pain than they started with and feeling more relaxed.

How long does it take to see results?

People often feel a positive shift after the very first treatment. Acupuncture is a very powerful way to stimulate endorphin release, which is the most powerful relaxing substance the body makes.

What are my chances of success?

Results do vary. Over 75% of our patients report improvement in their symptoms after just a few visits and many are able to reduce their medication use (if used, and under the supervision of the prescribing physician). However, every situation is unique and once we meet with you we will be able to give you our best estimate of time and prognosis of outcome.
