The Cosmetic Benefits of Acupuncture & Microneedling
For thousands of years, acupuncture has been used to enhance beauty and vitality, including through cosmetic applications for skin rejuvenation. Our cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling treatments can provide natural anti-aging effects, improve skin texture, and promote radiant health by targeting specific facial points and stimulating collagen production.
Boosts Collagen Production
Cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling work together to stimulate the body's natural collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer and more youthful skin. By creating micro-channels and targeting specific facial points, these treatments encourage cellular repair and regeneration, resulting in a plumper, more resilient complexion over time. This non-invasive approach helps combat signs of aging from within, without the need for harsh chemicals or surgery.
Improves Skin Tone and Texture
Cosmetic acupuncture combined with microneedling enhances overall skin tone and texture, addressing issues like dullness, uneven pigmentation, and roughness. The treatments boost circulation and exfoliation at a microscopic level, leading to brighter, more even skin. This results in a smoother surface that's better at retaining moisture, making it ideal for those seeking a radiant, healthy glow without invasive procedures.
Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles
These therapies effectively diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by promoting skin tightening and smoothing. Acupuncture needles activate key points to enhance blood flow and relaxation, while microneedling induces controlled injuries that trigger healing responses. Patients often notice a visible reduction in crow's feet, forehead lines, and other expression marks after a series of sessions, achieving a more refreshed look.
Minimizes Scars and Pore Size
By reducing acne scars, enlarged pores, and inflammation, these methods offer targeted improvement for blemished or damaged skin. Microneedling breaks down scar tissue while acupuncture calms irritated areas and balances the body's energy. Together, they refine the skin's appearance, minimizing imperfections and promoting a clearer, more refined complexion with lasting effects and minimal recovery time.

Michael was very knowledgeable and professional. It was a very nice experience. We discussed regarding healthy food I am eating He recommended some food to try to help me with my weight and stress. It was a very productive discussion about stress, food. He also told me about cupping and what he’s doing next and if I was comfortable. I really recommend him.

Acupuncture employs needles that are substantially smaller than those used by doctors for injections. The sensation has been compared to an insect bite or a pinch, however most people do not experience anything at all. Certain points can be painful to needle, and we aim to avoid them unless they are absolutely essential. If they are, we usually use thinner needles for those points. If you are sensitive to needles, we will modify your therapy so that you can reach your health goals while remaining comfortable.Description text goes here
Microneedling without numbing cream often feels uncomfortable or painful, like stinging or pricking—especially in sensitive areas with less tissue, like the nose and forehead. With topical numbing cream applied 30-60 minutes beforehand, it's typically feels like mild pressure and is easy to handle, as the anesthetic dulls the sensation. Typically the areas with the thinnest tissue like the forehead or nose, or any similar area will be sensitive to microneedling and it might hurt to a degree

The number of treatments required for cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling varies depending on factors like your skin condition, age, goals (e.g., wrinkle reduction, acne scarring, or overall rejuvenation), and individual response. For cosmetic acupuncture, a typical course involves 10-12 sessions, often scheduled weekly or twice weekly for 5-6 weeks to achieve noticeable improvements in skin tone, elasticity, and fine lines, with monthly maintenance thereafter for sustained results. Some may see benefits after 5-6 sessions, but 10+ is recommended for optimal, cumulative effects.
For microneedling, most people need 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart to stimulate collagen production and address issues like scars, texture, or pigmentation, with deeper concerns potentially requiring up to 8 treatments. Your practitioner will tailor a plan during consultation, and combining both therapies can enhance outcomes with fewer total sessions in some cases.

At The Subtle Point, we provide a range of services that can last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. Initial appointments, on the other hand, last 60 to 90 minutes. Usually acupuncture treatments for most cosmetic issues are 60-90 minutes long.

For almost all cosmetic treatments you do not have to disrobe at all. At the most, forearms, hands, lower legs, feet, and maybe the abdomen will need to be uncovered if a patient wants to work on other issues while getting the cosmetic work done.
